Each Chessie goes through an evaluation period of several weeks so they can be
matched to the ideal owner
and living situation.
Therefore, NY CBR Rescue is often fostering more dogs than those listed on this website.
All dogs listed below are fostered at our rescue headquarters near Watkins Glen,
New York.

| Bella |
Bella is a very small 50-55# 1 - 1 1/2 yr old female who is a great loving dog. Loves her people, but will not tolerate other dogs, especially getting into her face. She's wirery, fast, & agile. She would make a great high scoring obedience or agility dog. She needs an adult/teenager type home with fenced in yard and someone who would love to get involved in the performance sports of dogs. Giving her a job will make her really happy. She'll be a loyal and devoted companion for sure. |
| Brava | Brava is a light deadgrass girl with plenty of energy. Loves people and kids. Okay with male dogs who are not pushy and where she can rule. Brava needs to be in an active home with a strong pack leader so she's kept in her place. She's one to push to the top and think she can run the show. But what she needs is someone to love and respect who will not allow it. |

Bucky | Bucky is a large good looking large boy about 2-3 yrs old. Light deadgrass. About 85-90#. Good with horses, ok with female dogs. Not good with men or large men. He'd be a great country companion for a single woman who wants some buddy to hang out with as well as protection when needed. He's a very lovely boy and anyone would be proud to own him for sure. |

Buddy | Buddy is a deadgrass young boy about 1 yr old. Leggy and still growing, body needs to fill out. He has little manners, but would also make a great dog for agility. He moves like a gazel,fast,sleek, can jump & turn tight, would make a No ! Agility dog with the right owner he has a great future in the sport of dogs. Not overly found of other dogs. Should be a single dog home, older children and only someone willing to teach him at lest manners and keep in on the right track. He's a typical young unmannered Chessie boy. |

Champ | Champ is a large older boy. About 9 yrs old. Very settled and well mannered, good with other dogs. Especially female. Needs a quiet laid back home with an owner whose around a lot for him to hang out with. We call him our Velcro dog as he hardly leaves my side while taking walks even off lead. He's a real treasure. |

Chance is a great boy. About 4-5 yrs old. About 75-80#. Loves the water. Great swimmer. Gets along well with other dogs, all people and all kids. He's active and loves to be out side. He had been hit by a car as a younger dog so has a stainless steel rod in his hind leg. Thou can't tell which it is and surely doesn't stop him. Not a dog you'd leave out in the dog house in the cold winter. Needs to have a warm place to lay that time of the year. Summer time and good weather he'd rather be out & enjoying the sun shine and cool waters. |

Coco | Coco is a young 3 yr old female, about 70+#. Very active, great with kids & other dogs, great dog for an active family. She'd love hiking, swimming, & camping. Keeping busy and playing is her joy. Pretty & sweet gal. |
| Dealer | Dealer is a nice big boy about 1 1/2- 2 yrs old. Needs some basic training, smart, loves people. Active, but to wild as most young dogs are. Gets along great with other dogs. We gave him his name because he was found abandon after a drug bust, left tied to the mirror of a car. He's a special boy. |

Duke 2008 |
Duke is a great 9 yr. old Chesapeake with a handsome sedge coat. He spent most of his life tied or outside and is growing back some neck fur. He'd love to find a home where someone will give him enough attention to show him how to enjoy life as an only dog in a laidback lifestyle. He's ready to be your buddy and best friend. Duke is sweet, noble, and full of love to give. And he deserves what he needs. |
| Gunner is a lovely boy about 3-4 yrs old. Well trained and loves to swim, and enjoy life. Needs a good strong pack leader, this dog also has great potential to do AKC performance events like, Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Agility or Hunt Test. He also has the breeding behind him to do it all. Real nice dog. Older children are preferred. Not always good with other dogs. | |
| Harley (2008) | Harley is a lovely medium-sized 4-5 yr. old male, dark sedge. He's a great dog but needs someone to really work on his recall. He's already been allowed to be too independent. Needs consistent training to make him an even better Chessie than he already is. |
| Henry is a leggy goofy young yearling. Needs someone whose willing to put the time & effort into making sure he heads and stay in the right direction. Sweet, easy going and willing to please. But still very much a big puppy. | |

Lacey(8 yrs old) is one of our older jewels, precious and special in everyway. She's well trained and well traveled. Would love and be happy in a home with an older couple who want to travel with their dog or just have a great companion to hang out with in the garden or walk the fields. She also gets along well with other dogs. |

Lilly is another 8-9 yr. old. She is sweet, gentle and full of life, gets along well with other dogs, is well trained and would love to have her very own people. She too is a rare jewel. She's still very young at heart. |

Ginger is about 2 yrs old. Soft, sweet kind of shy. Needs a easy going quiet laid back home that doesn't have a lot of activity of people coming & going. She'd be great with older kids, single adult or adult couple. She's affectionate and wants to please for sure. |

Rubie is a very small young 4-5 yr old about 55-60 #. Gets along well with other dogs. Well trained and loves her own people. Won't leave your side. But can be very protective if in a fenced in area or crate if stranger comes around. She would be best in a single woman home, who doesn't have a lot of coming or going but wants a true companion dog who is willing to let you know when someone comes around. For the right person, she's a great dog and worthy of a loving home. |
